Activity During WWII

Served in Company D, 318th Infantry Regiment. Participated in the Normandy Invasion, Omaha Beach. Awarded the Silver star, Bronze star, 2 battle stars, ribbons for expert marksmanship; expert on 50 caliber machine gun, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon. Received the Purple Heart on December 26, 1944. Served from July 1941 to July 1945; discharged while recuperating from wounds. The Jubilee Liberty medal from France was awarded posthumously.
