West Point Class of 1941. Number 12484, Page 324. Served in the 68th Bomb Squadron, 44th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force. He was killed in an air mission in Foggia, Italy at age 24. His dog tags were found July 2, 1943. Volunteered to fly with new pilot. Interment at Zachary Taylor National Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky. Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, three Air Medals and the Purple Heart.
