Activity During WWII

Platoon Leader and Regimental Liaison Officer in the 311th Infantry Regiment of the 78th Division. He participated in Ardennes, Rhineland and Central European Campaigns in the European Theater. Was in the Battle of the Huertgen Forest and the Battle of the Bulge; was with the 1st Infantry Regiment, 311th Infantry Regiment, across the Rhine River at Remagen, Germany in March 1945. After 22 years of service, he was awarded 14 decorations including the Combat Infantryman Badge, 2 Bronze Stars and 2 awards of the Army Commendation Medal. He is buried at the Andersonville National Cemetery.
