Served with the 43rd Tank Battalion, 12th Armored Division, Medical Detachment in the European Theatre. The 12th Armored Division received 3 battle stars. He received the Bronze Star for trying to save a man's life during transport on a Jeep; but the patient died later. Also received the Good Conduct medal.
