ENLISTED ON JANUARY 15, 1940. SERVED WITH BATTERY A, 52ND FIELD ARTILLERY BATTALION AS A GUN CREWMAN IN THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. SERVED AT PEARL HARBOR, GUADALCANAL. AWARDED THE 2 BRONZE SERVICE STARS, THE AMERICAN DEFENSE SERVICE RIBBON, THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC THEATER RIBBON. HE WAS WOUNDED AT GUADALCANAL. HE RECEIVED AN HONORABLE DISABILITY DISCHARGE FROM THE CONVALESCENT HOSPITAL AT CAMP AT UPTON, NEW YORK ON FEBRUARY 7, 1947.
