Activity During WWII

Hatch Foreman: Served in THE UNITED STATES; Oran, Salerno, Anzio and Naples with the 389th Port Battalion. As hatch foreman, supervised and worked with 10 stevedores engaged in loading and unloading cargo at ports of embarkation and debarkation. In loading ships, received cargo by winch from land and directed its storage in accordance with manifests. In unloading, supervised the moving of cargo from hold to shore by winch. Was awarded Bronze Arrowhead for participation in D-Day Invasion at Salerno.
