Served as a Sergeant in Iceland, then went ashore at Normandy one month after D-Day. He was a member of Patton's 3rd Army the 'Red Diamond', 5th Division. Wounded by a sniper on November 10, 1944 near Pont-a-Mousson, France. Returned to the U.S. in January of 1945.
