Served on the USS TICONDEROGA CV-14 starting in April 1945 after Big T had completed her repairs due to kamikaze attack. He was a S1C Aviation Machinist's Mate. Went aboard at Alameda Naval Air. Started out as plane captain of a F6F Grumman Hellcat, then was in charge of the tool crib located at the base of the island on the flight deck.
