MEMBER OF THE INFANTRY; PLATOON SERGEANT. He joined the U.S. Army in 1941 and served in the 51st signal company. He served in England and was part of the invasions of North Africa, Sicily and Italy. He served from 9 October 1941 to 2 November 1945 and was a sergeant at the time of his discharge. He received the WWII Victory medal, American Theater medal, European-African-Middle Eastern medal with 3 bronze stars and Good Conduct medal.
