DEPARTED FOR EUROPE JUNE 21, 1944. FOUGHT IN THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE. HE WAS IN PATTON'S 3RD ARMY, 390TH ANTI AIRCRAFT ARTILLERY AUTOMATIC WEAPONS BATTALION, BATTERY A. NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICER SPECIAL WEAPONS. SUPERVISED 2 MAN CREW IN COMBAT OPERATION OF SELF PROPELLED MACHINE GUN AND A 37MM CANNON. ASSIGNED MEN TO SPECIFIC DUTIES AND SUPERVISED MAINTENANCE OF GUNS. RECEIVED THE EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN SERVICE MEDAL, AMERICAN THEATER SERVICE MEDAL, GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL AND VICTORY MEDAL.
