Activity During WWII

HE SIGNED UP FOR THE NAVY AND SERVED IN THE PACIFIC ABOARD THE USS SAN MARCOS LSD-25 AND THE USS FALL RIVER CA-131. HE, WHILE IN THE PACIFIC, WITNESSED AMERICA’S MOST POWERFUL WEAPON, TWICE. HE STOOD ON THE USS SAN MARCOS LSD-25, AN OBSERVATION SHIP AND HEAVY CRUISER, DURING THE TESTING OF TWO ATOM BOMBS. HE ALSO SERVED IN THE KOREAN WAR AND WAS AWARDED THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL, THE KOREAN SERVICE MEDAL, THE UNITED NATIONS SERVICE MEDAL, THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL AND THE NATIONAL DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL.
