TEST PILOT WHO WAS SERVED AT THE NAVAL AIR STATION IN NEW JERSEY. WAS FLYING A GRUMMAN HELLCAT OVER THE ATLANTIC OCEAN NEAR ATLANTIC CITY, NEW JERSEY WHEN HIS RIGHT WING FELL OFF AND HE CRASHED INTO THE SEA ON, OR ABOUT SEPTEMBER 7, 1943 . THE WING WAS FOUND BUT HIS BODY WAS NEVER RECOVERED.
