Activity During WWII

Stationed at Naval Reserve Base Peru, Indiana flight program. September 1, 1942, 600 planes. March 30, 1944 sent to Norfolk, Virginia for 13 week maintenance course on PBY Catalina, FM-2 Wildcat 'Avenger' torpedo-bomber, F4-U Vought Corsair, SNJ North American F6-F, FM-2 Hellcat. May 11, 1944 sent to Barbers Point, Oahu to Combat Aircraft Service Unit 2 and was plane captain on F6-F, FM-2 'Avenger' torpedo-bomber, F4-U. Went to engine overhaul August 30, 1944 and overhauled R-2800 18 cylinder Pratt and Whitney engines, progressive overhaul, 900 hundred workers and overhaul 2,000 engines for all of the Pacific fleet. War ended and was sent to Naval Personnel Separation Center Great Lakes, Illinois. Discharged November 23, 1945. Served 3 years 4 months.
