Served one year at Hampton Roads Port of Embarkation, Newport News, Virginia. He was Chief Clerk Secret Service. April 12, 1945 was assigned to SS 'Marine Wolf', Entered cross-channel shuttle service between Southampton, England and Le-Havre, France. Made 105 Channel crossings. Ten trips were made before V-E day, during which time the threat of enemy submarines and mines was constant.
