Served in the South Pacific aboard the Uss Waldron DD-699. Participated in action at Iwo Jima and Okinawa and was part of the servicemen who entered Tokyo at the end of the war. He was in charge of the forward gun mount on his destroyer. Served from 1944 to 1946.
