Activity During WWII

Gunner and relief driver in tank, 4th Armored Division under General Patton. Went into France on D-Day +6. Tank was hit, cutting off both legs. Fire seared crew and badly burned him. He and one other managed to get out of tank. Bullet grazed his head while waiting for rescue. He spent 6 months in English hospital and 6 months in Utah hospital until discharged with 2 wooden legs.
