101ST AIRBORNE. JUMPED ON D-DAY OVER. JUMPED OVER HOLLAND, SEPTEMBER 1944. WOUNDED IN HOLLAND AND TAKEN PRISONER OF WAR. SHIPPED TO GERMAN PRISONER OF WAR CAMP. HE ESCAPED IN JANUARY 1945. EVENTUALLY MADE HIS WAY ACROSS EGYPT AND BACK TO U.S. SHORTLY BEFORE END OF WAR WITH GERMANY.
