Activity During WWII

Inducted February 10, 1941. Served 42 months overseas with the 209th Regiment, Anti-Aircraft. Stationed in North Ireland. Sailed for North Africa, Oran, Algiers, French Morocco, Tunisia. Sent to Naples, Italy in 1943 and set up anti-aircraft at Anzio. Spent 115 days at Monte Cassin. Changed to the 898th Battalion. Served at Rome-Arno as infantryman for 25 days and then sent to Corsica. In October 1944, shipped to Marseilles to join the 100th Infantry Division in France. Moved through Nancy, Mannheim, Swabia and Heidelberg.
