Entered Active Duty as U.S. Army Private on June 6, 1941. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant, Adjutant General Corps in September of 1942. Army Administrative Instructor at University of Mississippi and Adjutant General School from September 1942 to February 1944. Served with the Military Government Division in the European Theater of Operation from February 1944 to December 1945. Was in the Battle of the Bulge December 1944. Served in the Active Army Reserves from August 1946 to September 1962. Graduate Command and General Staff College in 1961. Retired with the Grade of Colonel.
