Entered the service in February, 1942. Received basic training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Later stationed at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana, and Camp Hood, Texas. Overseas for 14 months. Was attached to the 634TH Tank Destroyer Battalion with the First Army. Saw action in France, Belgium and Germany. On February 9, 1945, lost left leg below the knee to a land mine. Deceased in December, 2000.
